Tatonka, Cherngtalay

This is a restaurant that is easy to miss location wise (tucked in between a couple restaurants)  but one that must not be missed.  It is fantastic and a vegetarians dream especially as it is not strictly vegetarian.  It is a fusion of all different sorts, and from what I have seen and tasted it is all delicious.  The mushroom tapas dish is probably the best dish I have had on this island, probably anywhere actually.  The veggie quesadillas are delicious as is the aubergine (egg plant) sandwiches.  The pizzas are unique, and fantastic, there are two veggie options here and they are both yummy.
The restaurant is out doors, a lovely open air atmosphere.  They are also exceptionally warm and welcoming to my small dog which means I have an even deeper love for this place.
You can easily share three tapas plates between two people, four if you are very hungry.  Each tapas plate is around 220 Baht, the mains are a bit more and the pizza about 350 Baht (you can have one of these on your own).

This is a must eat at restaurant for both veggies and meat eaters.  The restaurant is located in Cherngtalay very close to Boat Avenue. 9.5/10
